Space & Flow workshops are "Open Level" (beginners to advanced) and are offered both as an introduction to Space & Flow Yoga to anyone new to the method and as a creative path towards a deeper appreciation and understanding of Vinyasa Flow Yoga for seasoned practitioners, movement artists, and teachers.
FLOW LIKE WATER... A STRONG & WARM WATER
In this workshop, after a thorough somatic tuning in and the S&F Dynamic Warm Up we will use a vinyasa sequence from the Space & Flow repertoire (SAVAKA / KALYANA) to play with finding ways to go from firm to somewhat liquid by working with linear patterns and then making them circular; all the while aiming to be moving through space from the inside out.
S&F FLOORWORK: THE GROUND, THE SPINE, THE BREATH
Paris 30 Juillet
The floorwork workshops will introduce
SPACE & FLOW’s main framework of
'The Tripod': the Ground, the Spine, the Breath
and will offer a way to explore the connections between the centre of our body and our extremities.
The aim is simple (but not easy): to travel low to the ground with ease, musicality, and a sense of freedom and articulation.
Open to all willing to get lost in space and keeping the flow low! ;-)
Barcelona 03 July London 23 July
In this masterclass we will be play-working with the JIRIKI sequence, the various mechanics and planes of motions involved, and how to make our transitions as smooth as possible.
The practice will start with the S&F Dynamic Warm Up and build up to the Jiriki sequence and the few explorations this Flow gives us. We'll talk about physiology, biomechanics, and physical limitations and work on how to allow pauses (asanas) to appear in between movements.
*JIRIKI: Japanese Buddhist term for self-power, the ability to achieve liberation or enlightenment through one's own efforts.
Amsterdam 25 June
In this workshop we will be working with the MONSOON sequence the various mechanics and planes of motions involved, and how to possibly go about creating further sequences using the same principles Monsoon was created with.
We will will start the practice with the S&F Dynamic Warm Up and proceed to discuss the art of sequencing Vinyasa with the Monsoon sequence as a reference point. Throughout the practice we will discuss the physiology, biomechanics, and limitations as well as how to allow pauses (asanas) to appear in between movements.
